Notes |
- Sarah's parentage has not yet been proven. Her death certificate indicates her father was "Christian Byshir" born in Germany. She first appears, just before her marriage as a 19 year old domestic in 1860 working for the Buffenberger family in Paint Twp., Madison Co., Ohio. There is a Sarah Barshear of the right age (10 years old) listed with the Gaskill family in Union Twp., Clinton Co., Ohio in the 1850 census. Notwithstanding her apparent birth location of Highland County, Ohio, it seems unlikely that she is connected with the other Highland County Bishirs that descend from Christopher Bishir.
Our current guess is that Sarah was part of a family of Beschers who were in Madison Country, Ohio during the mid-1800s.
