 | BISHIR - Cooper shop in Cynthiana, Kentucky about 1906. Lundy Bishir is standing behind the barrel. Contributed by Judy Kivi
Lundy would have been about 19 at this time. According to a letter we received many years ago from Lundy's widow, Mary Bishir, Lundy's uncle is also in the photo. She thought his name might be "Bill" but she wasn't sure. Lundy's brother, William, would have been only six years old when this photo was taken and Lundy's great-uncle Bill Bishir would have been in his 60s by this time. The only Bishir uncle Lundy had was Albert Burton Bishir. Burt would have been 34 in 1906. He was a cooper in Kentucky in 1910. Maybe Lundy went to work for him when he was out of school. Based on the strong facial resemblance, Burt is probably the man to the right of Lundy. |

Notes |
- The News-Herald, 30 Oct 1890, Thu, Page 8:
“LYNCHBURG. October 27th, 1890. Mr Bert Bisher and Miss Lillie Ketzer were married.”
Other records give their marriage date as 25 Oct, 1890.
There is a newspaper story, dated 1 August 1895:
“Milt Wayne, Bert Bishire and John Bishire engaged in a three sided fight near the Miller house, Saturday night. Bert Bishire and Wayne were fined $5 and costs, while John Bishire has not yet been caught.”
They lived in Lynchburg, Ohio and had two children - one living in 1900. Al was supposedly a Cinncinnati Ohio Vice Squad officer killed in the line of duty. See notes for Walter Bisher.
Bert appears as a widower, working as a cooper in Owenboro, Kentucky in 1910.
Research Notes: Albert lists his birth year as 1873 on the 1900 census. He is indexed under "Bert Bishiral" in the 1910 census, and lists himself (probably) as a widower. A "Bert Bisher" with matching birthdate appears in 1920, married to Minnie and living in Cynthiana, Kentucky. He dies there on 7 May 1928. Minnie dies there 23 Feb 1929.
