Notes |
- Lee was raised in Lynchburg, Ohio. As a child, he put on a little pair of red boots and danced on a street corner in Lynchburg to earn money for his mother. Lee worked in Xenia at the Xenia Rope Walk where he met May, who was also working there at the time. They lived in Alpha, Ohio when Harold was 5 or 6 years old and later lived at 433 W. Washington St. in Springfield, OH during WW II. Lee missed both wars. He was accepted into the army just as WW I ended. He never celebrated his wedding anniversary. He died of a stroke, having lived in Springfield for 43 years.
Research: The 1900 census shows Lee's birth date as May of 1895. He is the only child in his family who was born in Kentucky.
