Notes |
- The family is in Jackson, Missouri in 1860. The IRS lists him in Iowa in 1863. John is in partnership blacksmithing with Benjamin W. G. Gould in Winterset, Iowa in 1865. The family appears in Iowa in 1870 and 1880 and 1885 and then in Seattle, Washington in 1887. He appears in an 1890s City Directory for Seattle as “Bishir & Vehrs” blacksmiths.
Research Notes: In 1870 the family includes a Hannah Bisher, listed out of order, age 17. She does not appear with the family in the 1860 census, so she may be enumerated with the wrong surname or is a cousin?
